Research on different types of Magazines based on their Genre

Introduction

Magazines hold great importance in our society. They play a huge role in spreading culture and interests from all over the world. They are a type of publication which target audiences in order to distribute related general and specialized information. Other than that they are also a source of entertainment, marketing, surveillance and providing services. Generally speaking, there are three main categories of magazines. General Interest magazines, Special Interest magazines, and Professional magazines.

1. General Interest Magazines

This is the most common genre of magazines. They are also known as consumer magazines and are aimed for the majority of the audience contained wide range of different topics such as food, entertainment, sports, etc. These can be found easily in local grocery stores or online. They are also used in waiting rooms for general public to read. These magazines are usually more attractive with vibrant colors and pictures compared to others.

2. Special Interest Magazines

These magazines are a bit different than General Interest Magazines. They are targeted for specific audience. For example a general interest sports magazine would cover different sports like cricket, football and have multiple other related topics, Special Interest magazines would solely focus on one interest/aspect like the best football player or the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

3. Professional Magazines

Professional Magazines are more educative in nature and contain content for people within the field. The content within this magazine is highly detailed. For example there might be a photography magazine wich is only for professional photographers or poeple who want to learn more about photography. It would contain in depth details about the different essential composition rules a photographer may need to know.
