Questionnaire & Analysis for Magazine

Rough draft, Instagram Polls, and Google Forms survey to decide magazine's genre

While thinking about what social issue my magazine should aim at, I thought about asking the general public and listening to their thoughts on which social issue is the most overlooked and needs the most attention. For this I first planned out what platforms we can use and what questions to include as shown below:

Firstly, I decided to use Instagram and google forms for survey online and then used physical printed questionnaire to survey people in person.

1) Instagram Polls

One of the easiest ways to get in touch with people online is through Instagram. For this reason I set up a story asking people about what their believes are that, can a magazine raise awareness about social issues?. Here are the responses:

The majority of the people choose (yes) that magazines can raise awareness against social issues. After this I made a survey using google forms which I sent to different college students and teachers to get their response on the following questions:

3) Physical Survey Forms

One of the main advantages of using printed surveys is that respondents tend to be more honest compared to digital respondents. This is because people think that physical surveys are more hidden and usable than digital surveys. However, it is much harder to get people to fill out these forms in person and physical surveys also cannot include interactive controls like dropdown menus etc.

I was able to get 15 responses from the above survey.

Most of the responders were males between 15-24 of age and rarely read magazines. According to them, magazines can have an impact on our everyday lives and can spread awareness on social issues. Most people are looking forward to reading tech and health magazines. The most overlooked social issue is Mental Health.

Conclusion:

Using all of the result above, I have decided to make my magazine Mental Health as it is one of the most read magazines and is the most overlooked social issue.
