Deciding the Name and Genre of my Magazine

The name is one of the first thing which the reader comes in contact with when reading or choosing a magazine. A unique and creative name builds up curiosity in the reader evoking them to further read the magazine. Other than that, an appropriate name can convey what the magazine is about and lets the reader know if the magazine is on par with his interests.

Using the results from the survey shown below, I have decided to make my magazine on the genre Mental Health as it is one of the most read magazines and is the most overlooked social issue.

After deciding my genre, it was time to decide the name for the magazine. I wrote down list of all potential names which came to my mind on a piece of paper and then asked few of my collogues about which magazine name they prefer. Picture of the list of name ideas is shown below:

After writing down all the possible names for my magazine, I took suggestions from some of my friends and short listed two names:

At this point, I uploaded an Instagram poll asking others about, which magazine name is better out of the two. Majority choose Mental+Health as shown below:

Other than that, I took a further step and asked another one of my friends on call and he also choose Mentatl+Health.

Conclusion:

The name I choose for my magazine is Mental+Health as it is a catchy name and is also appropriate for the genre and content.
